GARAGE SALE & BAKE SALES!!!

We now have the date of the garage sale: JUNE 26th-28th!!! It will take place at Jacob Suazo's house (10713 Idlewild Rd. SW Lakewood). Please come out during that weekend and check out all the cool stuff we have. Also, if you have any items to donate, we would be happy to take them off your hands, and we can pick up items that you can not deliver to us. jacob's white 1988 Acura Integra is also for sale for $1,200. This will be a major fundraising event for BSB, so come on out and support our sale.

Starting Sunday June 14th, BSB will start selling baked goods, t-shirts and Mt. Vernon photos after all three masses (9AM and 11AM Sundays, 5PM Saturdays) at St. John Bosco Church (photo sales will begin June 20th). Please feel free to visit us after mass to purchase something, make a donation, or just chat with us.

There is a bulletin on the main bulletin board at SJB that will have updates as well if you are unable to contact one of the members with more questions about these events. Thank you for taking the time to read.

Update 3

Good Day to Everyone!

We want to thank everyone who had helped raise money this past November for the Bake Sale ($587): Mrs. Hobbs, Mrs. Monroe, Mrs. Yabut, Ms. Javillionar, Ms. Delallana, Mr. & Mrs. Suazo, and Mr. Justin.

The last time we updated the fundraisers portion we talked about having a dinner/talent show evening. Our planning for this has been moving foward and we have decided to push it back to March. A reason for this is becuase it will be around Rex's and my birthday. We plan in conjunction to this event to have a birthday bash to raise money for the Documentary. So instead of gifts from family and friends, what we are requesting is money to help fund our documentary. Also on the upcoming sundays we will have a few forms for everyone. One will be a sign up form for the talent that wishes to perform at our event. The second sheet is a Photo order form. This photo order form is for our newest fundraiser. An Idea was hinted to us that we should frame and sell the Mt. Vernon photos. So, starting this Sunday we will have the forms ready along with a selection of photos for whoever wishes to order photos.
Along with these fundraisers, we will now begin grant writing. This is because Blood Sweat and Berries, is now a non-profit organization! Wish us luck.

P.S. If you have any experience in grant writing, we would love to have your help.

Thanks for your continued support in our efforts.

Jacob and Rex

Update 1

We want to let everyone know of the great response we had in the first weeks of presenting our plans to do the documentary. So far, we were able to raise $1,120.24! As always thank for the ongoing prayers for the success of this documentary and financial support.

We have talked about doing yard work for the month of November and December alongside a bake sale after mass, and for the month of January we plan on putting together a Dinner Dance.

The yard work and bake sale will require some volunteers. For the yard work, we are looking for individuals whom require their yard cleaned, weeded, and mowed. We are also planning to do various odd jobs around the house that is being worked on. For the bake sale, we are looking for some talented cooks that are willing to bake some pies or fall festive desserts or even decorations. For the Dinner Dance, we are looking for individuals that are willing to help in the planning of the event. Ideas we have thus far are food, music, theme, silent auction and raffle prizes.

If you have any suggestions or ideas regarding anything that you have read, please feel free to contact us or leave a comment. Thank you for reading.

Sincerely,

Jacob & Rex

Update 2

Welcome!

These past two weeks we've had a bake sale on the 9th and 16th. Altogether we've gathered a total of $250.22. Thank you! Our first bake sale we had some cookies that we made (choc chip, oatmeal white choc craisns, and peanut butter) and one of our baker-ists made (gourmet carmel choc brownies). We spent $33.61 for the ingredients and reimbursed the individual who made the purchase. We made an even $125. Our second bake sale we had rice crispy treats, rice crispy treats with a layer of choc, butterscotch, and peanut butter, blueberry muffins, apples, and bananas. Thank you to the two baker-ists who volunteered their time and talent!

We are setting our sights for planning a talent show slash dinner auction slash silent auction. The tentative date for this event will be around Mid/End January or Mid/End February. We are in the works towards looking for a venue, what to soliciate for the auciton and silent auction, and what kind of talent we are looking for. We are heading toward a Mexican-themed dinner. What do you think about this idea? Do you think it would be better to have a pot luck dinner or catered? How would you feel about attending this event for minimal cost of about $10 to $15?

There is talks of one of the Bosco parishonars putting on an event for their senior project that will benefit this project. Just giving everyone a heads up. It will entail a bands, music, and food. More information about this will be promoted.

Thank you very much for reading, your support, and prayers!

Sincerely,

Jacob & Rex
